While photographing architecture in town Joe Cacka showed me this camera angle and it works really well. The shadows are really cool. |

See below for the first para, later I found a bald eagle enjoying breakfast and waited until it flew, in this case to my surprise straight towards me! I got a few nice frames. I like the eye contact! |

It snowed last night and left six inches on the ground and it was cold, about 10F this morning so after the chores (clearing the driveway) I went for my walk. I found a group of 3 does and then another 5, all were very skittish and wanted to escape from the devil aka me. I think this running shot works well but I am sorry they were nervous. |

A cold morning, a walk in the woods, a view of whitetail bucks with broken antlers, lots of unusual ducks, gadwall, wood duck, wigeon, good conversation and an interesting interaction between a hooded merganser and a mallard. Good day. |

I was out walking late yesterday afternoon and saw some interesting clouds and even better the sun was shining and the sky near the horizon was clear of clouds so I realized suddenly that we were about to have a really good sunset. So what to do? What time is sunset? I ran back and grabbed my gear and headed up to our local mountain park and spent a great time watching the sunset, the rock climbers, the mountain bikers and young lovers and got some really nice images. Great! I will add a few more to the Landscape/USA/Colorado gallery. |

Recently we saw some golden eagles over the prairies and I did wondered what they were doing there other than feeding. They were in an area with a lot of pronghorn. Today I saw one flying near there but heading for the hills. So I put two and two together and now think that they nest in the foothills (of the Rockies) and spend their days in the winter ranging far and wide for prey. I know they take young pronghorn so it all begins to make a bit more sense. As I drove around figuring this out I also found a captive herd of bison and took some shots. |

This pigeon had a bath in the brown bear's pool and was quite confident that the bear wasn't going to be able to catch it, the bear had other ideas but the pigeon won the day. |
