This is a wee boat that was used by a chap called Scott in the Antarctic apparently, very interesting story. It's now in Dundee harbour as a major visitor exhibit.

But then again wind turbines are a pretty big part of the Scottish landscape these days too!

We were shocked to see this view from our house tonight but assume it's the farmers burning off the stubble after the harvesting is done. It is maybe 1-2 miles away but looks very dramatic.

This is a view of Carham church and the Tweed valley from my garden, it is great to be able to sit and admire this magnificent view. Hope you enjoy it too.

I was delighted and felt very privileged today to be allowed to watch the treatment of 19 juvenile white-tailed sea eagles as they were prepared for release. They are checked and ringed and radio tagged so they can be tracked and the results measured. What a great thing it is to witness the hard work of many which will truly add to the wild nature of Scotland. And since they are a species which once lived here it is a re-introduction, we are making up for the mistakes of the past.

Well good news we have found a beautiful house in the Scottish Borders overlooking the River Tweed, perhaps the best salmon fishing river in Europe. And in this area there are otters, ospreys, and other interesting creatures as well as stunning lowland scenery and friendly people.
We are excited to be moving to this location and can't wait until we get into the house.
More later.

Well you will have noticed that things are a little slow at the moment, we are moving home back (or is it back home?) to Scotland so photography is at a standstill right now until we relocate. When we get there of course there will be a whole new brand of photography available, gorgeous scenery, amazing animals, fantastic light. See you on the other side! |
